With the start of every new year comes the opportunity to start something new and this Year our New Year 6 children have started with a mission to get everyone active. They have taken on the responsibility of setting up, leading and running a new club – ‘The Sports Crew’ which they will run every lunchtime, promoting keeping active and having fun at the same time.
Green Trees Award – Silver Award
Congratulations to the whole school and especially the work of the Eco Group and Mrs Cooper who, having completed their final task / activity, have been award Silver Green Trees School award for their work completing environmental projects and encouraging outdoor learning. Well Done!
Sainsbury’s School Games Silver Mark Award 2016-2017
Congratulations to everyone on their continued hard work in developing and promoting sports and games across the school. We have just been awarded Sainsbury’s School Games Silver Mark 2016 2017 for our achievements and the achievements of all our little sportsmen and women. Our commitment to sport and games across the school will continue to be developed with a special thanks to Mr Baker for all his effort, organisation and dedication to pupil sport.

Durham Brass Festival
Hannabiell and Midnight Blue performed on both school sites. We listened to a saxophone, trombone, tuba, guitar, electric guitar and drums, and joined in the dancing.
Year 5 visit French Bus
Year 5 children had the opportunity to explore their use of french when the French Bus came to visit on Friday. They had a wonderful time exploring french language activities and a range of french reading books. Through story telling they learnt all about Bastille Day. Their behaviour was exemplary and the reports back showed they enjoyed every minute.
Mini Police Passing Out Assembly
Congratulations to all our Year 5 Mini Police who completed a year of hard work, commitment and responsibility by presenting their own assembly to an audience of friends, family and guest visitors, PCSO Alex Cave and Mr Ron Hogg, Durham’s Police, Crime and Victims Commissioner. At the end of the assembly Mr Hogg spoke highly of their work across the year and the achievements they have made in our community. Finally each mini police person was awarded their certificate.
Thank you to all the mini police, they have done us proud and they are now the inspiration for our Year 4 children who will become our next Mini Police group.

Year 6 Emotional Resilience
The school nurse visited Year 6 pupils on Thursday 22 June to explore the topic of Emotional Resilience and Well being prior to their transition to secondary School.
