SEND

At Leadgate Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is valued, supported and celebrated as an individual. We believe that all pupils, regardless of their needs, abilities or background, should feel a strong sense of belonging and have access to a high-quality, enriching education.

Our approach to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is rooted in the principle that every child can achieve and thrive when the right support is in place. We work hard to identify and remove barriers to learning, ensuring that all pupils can fully participate in both the curriculum and wider school life. Inclusive practice benefits all children, promoting confidence, independence and a positive sense of self.

We follow the statutory SEND Code of Practice, placing children and their families at the heart of everything we do. This means we:

  • Identify needs early and respond quickly to ensure the right support is in place
  • Work in close partnership with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Provide high-quality, adaptive teaching to meet a wide range of needs
  • Ensure pupils are involved in decisions about their learning and support

Through our inclusive ethos and our Enhanced Learning Provision, we provide tailored support for pupils with more complex needs, while ensuring that they remain an integral part of our school community. We are committed to helping every child develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to succeed both in school and in their future lives.

At Leadgate, inclusionis at the heart of everything we do.
