Circus Day

We had an incredible time celebrating Circus Day! The school grounds were transformed with the arrival of our spectacular big top tent, creating a real circus atmosphere from the moment children arrived. Stepping inside the tent was a highlight in itself, with excitement and anticipation building throughout the day.

Pupils took part in a range of fun and engaging circus activities, learning new skills such as juggling, balancing and plate spinning. It was fantastic to see everyone showing resilience, confidence and teamwork as they challenged themselves and supported one another.

The live performances in the big top were a huge hit, with plenty of laughter, amazement and applause from all. The energy and enthusiasm from our pupils made the day even more special.

Circus Day provided a wonderful opportunity to create lasting memories, and we are incredibly proud of how our pupils represented the school with such positivity and excellent behaviour throughout.

Rock Kids on Tour- A Day Filled With Music, Motivation and Fun

What an incredible day we had at Leadgate Primary School! Our school hall was completely transformed as the amazing Rock Kidz team turned it into our very own full‑scale rock concert venue. From the moment the music started, the excitement was electric and every child was ready to rock!

The Rock Kidz team performed an original song “Nobody Like Me” created especially with a PSHE theme of self-esteem and divesrity. Their age‑appropriate explanations and demonstrations helped everyone understand the important message behind the music—while still keeping the atmosphere energetic and fun.

Throughout the day, each class took part in high‑energy, active workshops full of dancing, exercise and laughter.  A highlight of the day had to be the legendary staff vs pupil competitions. Cheers filled the hall as teachers and children went head‑to‑head in friendly challenges—creating memories we’ll be talking about for a long time.

It introduced me to a new genre of music that I did not think I would like.

My favourite part was all of the battles because I was intrigued to see others ideas and how they danced.

Maths Enrichment Week

Our recent Maths Enrichment Week was an incredible celebration of creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork! Throughout the week, pupils took part in a wide range of exciting maths-themed activities and workshops designed to make learning fun, practical, and inspiring.

One of the highlights was the Enterprise Challenge, where each class worked together to design, cost, and create a unique product to sell at our Winter Fair. The children impressed us with their innovative ideas and attention to detail — from calculating costs and predicting profits, to developing branding and advertising strategies. Their final products were outstanding, showcasing not only mathematical skills but also creativity and collaboration.

The Dragon’s Den-style pitches were a real showstopper! Pupils presented their ideas confidently and persuasively, demonstrating fantastic communication skills and teamwork. It was wonderful to see how much their confidence grew as they applied maths in real-life contexts.

Maths Week wasn’t just about numbers — our Forest School sessions explored shapes, patterns, and measurement in nature, while art lessons focused on designing eye-catching packaging and promotional materials. Every activity reinforced the message that maths is everywhere and can be exciting, creative, and fun.
