Letter from the Minister of State for School Standards
We were very pleased to have received a letter from the Minister of State for School Standards, on Friday, recognising the achievement of our staff and pupils. It recognises the high standards we have achieved in Maths and Reading that places the achievements of staff and children in the top 1% of primary schools in England. I would like to add to this and thank all our families for their continued support and work with the school.

Sports Hall Athletics Update
Last week we reported that our Year 5 and 6 children took part in Sports Hall Athletics as part of Sainsbury’s School Games Level 2 and achieved second place. However there had been a mistake in the points calculation and we are extremely proud to announce they actually won first place.
This week our Year 3 and 4 children took part in the same competition and also came first making us the BEST SCHOOL IN DERWENTSIDE IN ATHLETICS!!
Well done everyone for their sporting achievement and outstanding behaviour.
Once again thank you to Mr Baker for his additional training and time with the children.
Children In Need
Thank you so much to everyone who supported our non-uniform day. We raised a fantastic £167.86.
Thanks to Miss Sharon and Miss Gemma at Upper School for providing the children with their special Pudsey Bear dinner.
The children at Lower School were treated to a surprise visit from Pudsey Bear.
Y3 Hindu Temple Visit
Year 3 had a great time exploring and learning all about the Hindu temple.
Y3 Hancock Museum
Year 3 visit to the Hancock Museum. We were archaeologists for the afternoon. We had to name each artefact and decide whether it was from the Stone Age or Iron Age.
