This week in maths, we have been learning how to make comparisons between objects and to group them by size, colour and shape. We then learned how to put three objects in order of size and height and talked through our decisions using mathematical vocabulary including 'tall' and 'short'.
We welcomed 'Milky Bear' to our Reception class this week. The children talked about his body parts, identifying their initial sounds and counting how many he had of each. They worked in our creative area using junk modelling to make a home for Milky to live in. They included things like a front door, windows and curtains. They manipulated their chosen materials using scissors and were able to choose what materials and colours they wanted to use to make Milky's home as comfortable and attractive as possible.
Our Reception children love to explore in both the indoor and outdoor environment.
